Our Photography tour with Florida's Manatees December 19, 2014

Today was a great birding day on the St Johns River. The Purple Gallinules, Limpkins, Wood Storks were all big finds. We saw Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons building their nests, Blue Gray Gnatcatchers, Coots, Little Blue Herons, Great and Snowy Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Tri-colored Herons, White Ibis, Anhingas, Cormorants and got some good shots of the Manatees too. Some got real friendly with us and one even got affectionate with our kayak giving us a flipper. They are a true gentle giant! There is still lots of color on the river too. The Red Maples, Climbing Astor, Bur Marigolds and Cypress Trees are all lit up and it was perfect weather for a Photo Tour on the river!
