Silver River bliss May 9th, 2014

There was lots to see on the mighty Silver River today. The Prothonotary Warblers are back for the Summer in all their yellow beauty. Purple Pickerel Weed, yellow Spatterdock, white Spider Lily and the red Cardinal Flower are all in bloom. The Anhingas (Snake Bird) were out fishing with their neck just above the water line. We saw the Limpkins with their chicks several times. River, Florida and Red-bellied Cooter Turtles were on just about every log and the Gators were out sunning too. We came upon 1 lone Monkey that we thought might be an adult male getting ready to start his own pack and found a big Yellow Rat Snake, a Banded Water Snake and a Fishing Spider. It was a great day on the river!
