Yakking with the Manatees

Martin brought his crew for another round of paddling with us and today the St Johns River was their choice. There were tons of birds to see even 4 Limpkins made a showing. The first Great Blue Heron of the season was seen sitting on the nest. A mighty Bald Eagle ever present watching over the spring run was a nice treat. The warm weather normally disperses the Manatees around the spring but there they were coming and going… some stopping by for a look at us. They are amazing animals. Out in the back waters we also found a few Manatees feeding along the weed line. We were blessed with great fun in the sun on a beautiful winter day.
