Bumping over the logs of Blackwater Lake
Bumping over logs was the theme at Blackwater Lake today. The Lees have paddled with us several times and were up for a little excitement. The creek run is low right now and after some serious maneuvers we made it to the lake. Evan spotted a 2 ft. Alligator sunning on a log then the Anhingas showed themselves. Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were sitting in the Cypress Tree right under an Osprey nest and the Antlions amused us at the lunch stop. It was a calm day that made for great paddling and we couldn’t have asked for a better group with which to share it.
