Kayaking the Wekiva, an adventure of Florida's Wild and Scenic river on June 11, 2013

As ominous clouds approached, Karen, Rhea and Kenny continued on their way up the river ;-). The shade of the early morning was greeted with smiles and the Ibis, Anhingas, Great & Little Blue Herons were enjoying it as well. The Apple Snail Eggs are being deposited in droves which confirms that the next generation is there to provide for the Limpkins. There were a few Gators out sunning, the Red-Winged Black Birds and Boat-tailed Grackles were singing their tunes and the Button Bush, Pickerel Weed, Primrose and Water Hemlock all decorate the river with Summer blooms.
