Discovering Seminole County's Wildlife June 20,2014

Two North American River Otters met us on the Wekiva River this morning. We watched as they worked the western shoreline of the Seminole Woods. Just past them we saw a Limpkin preening his feathers. There were Great Blue, Little Blue and Green Herons out feeding. The Moorhens, Sandhill Cranes, Mottled Ducks and Anhingas were out too. The Eel Grass swaying in the current is starting to bloom and the Turtles and freshly hatched Gators were out sunning. It was the epitome of a beautiful Summer day in Florida and paddling the Wekiva was a great way to spend the morning.
